“...Voy caminando por el Malecón,

aunque tú no me veas

y en una mano llevo la razón y La Habana vieja,

al otro lado va el Hotel Douville,

mira tu quien me iba a decir

que estoy bajando la loma del Capri pa'l hotel Riviera...”

The cuban singer and musician Isaac Delgado wrote this song about Malecón, (broad promenade, roadway and seawall which stretches for 7 km along the coast in Havana, Cuba). He lives in Spain and one of his records is named exactly Malecón. It is clear as water that Delgado carries with him Malecón. Promenade stripes like this finds in almost all cities facing the marine coast. It is Malecón where cubans go to draw air at night or to fish one Dorado. People visit Malecón for having a talk with friends, drink some rum, dance, read a book, a magazine or maybe share happiness with somebody we love. From here we can see The Caribbean and The World. Like Isaac Delgado, we will always come back to Malecón. This place is a point of meeting, communication and dance like most of Cuba is. We give our students a feeling of Malecón and this is the reason why we took this name.
